Beetle Bailey

Beetle Bailey is the title character from an American comic strip created in 1950 by cartoonist Mort Walker. The strip revolves around daily life in a U. S. Army base (not unlike Private Olive Oyl) and the misadventures of Private Bailey, his immediate superior, Sergeant Snorkel, and a host of colorful military characters.

In 1967, the Beetle Bailey comic was added as a back-up feature to the Popeye comic book. Also, in 1972, Beetle was among the various King Features characters to appear along with Popeye in Popeye Meets the Man Who Hated Laughter.
