    Adoption Process

    March 26, 2016 by Cobarritt

    Hello Everyone,

I have only had an opportunity to exchange messages with some of my fellow contributors since I joined all of you in November. I hope to reach out to others with this new blog post. A few weeks ago I was asked by one of our other contributors (186 contributor) if I would consider adopting this wiki. This site has gone for quite some time without an administrator so I said I would think about it.

I have given it more thought and have decided to start the process. I do know that I need to make a blog post of some sort explaining my intentions to adopt the wiki. I have noticed a few problems that can only be fixed by someone with administrative rights. Plus I would like to update menus and other navigation items.

    But my main inte…

    Renaming Pages

    January 27, 2016 by Cobarritt

I wanted to start this new topic to discus the best practices to rename/move a page. I have never made any contributions to the code of this community so I don't what goes on behind the scenes with this process.

I do know it creates a redirect page and creates an entry in the Special:Log/move page. I have also noticed that it alters links in other pages (e.g. [ [ Old_Name | New_Name ] ]. I have also noticed that it takes some time to complete the process. I have worked on development team with other wiki software so there can be many other tasks as well.

    My main concern is this:

Should any contributors alter the page links created by this process? My experience with other software lead me to think it shouldn't be altered. Changing it could po…

I have started this Blog to discuss the issues concerning the Popeye comic books, daily strips, public service announcements and other Popeye material absent from this wiki.

There are decades missing and I would love to attempt to fill in some of the holes.

Since I am new to this group I wanted to say "Hi" to every one. I have only been contributing to the Popeye Wiki for two weeks. And I only started my Wikia account three weeks ago. I have had a lot of fun researching and adding articles.

I thought it would be best to put up a post before I added or changed too much. Most of my contributions have been to 'The All-New Popeye Hour' articles. I want to get some feed back about some of the additions I would like to make.

At the present time, none of the episodes appear to be listed in any type of order. I have been able to find the original order of appearance and air dates. I think they should be listed on the main series page in a table something like this:

Episode Segment Episode Title Season S…

    The sea

    January 6, 2015 by Alexis 23456789

I cannot be far away from the sea for so long, the salt air is most delightful, the deep drumming of a ship's engine is far better than any pacemaker to my heart, the deep blue sea brings my spirit at peace and the ships' bells are far better sound than any siren's song.

I've started the adoption process! What do you think? I believe I'm enough qualified, since the last guy broke the two-month absence limit & certain other users are blocked elsewhere (you know who you are) so they can't adopt...

This little post is on two cartoons from Betty Boop & Popeye.

    • Wild Elephinks (1933) (Released on the 29th of December)
    • Is My Palm Read (1933) (Released on the 17th of Feb, months before Popeye)

Both cartoons were released in 1933 and seem to have the same reference.  I'm not sure if anyone has noticed before but they seem to be in the same place only in different times. In both of the cartoons series the main characters have some sort of interaction with a wave.

There seem to be many references between both cartoons, particularly in the Popeye series.   For example in the (1940) Popeye cartoon "Wimmin Hadn't Oughta Drive" they use the same song from the (1938) Betty Boop cartoon "So Does an Automobile".

In Popeye's "Wild Elephinks" which was al…

    New Owner

    November 13, 2012 by Chidori1,000

Hey everyone! It's the new owner of this wiki. Hopefully i can revive this place! When I got here, this place was like a wasteland. Nobody added an image since 2008. At the time, it was 2011. Nice to own this wiki now.

So, there's a lot ofstuff all around this wiki, depicting Bluto as a hot stud, and getting a fetish of him doing anything, and a stranger fetish of him being beaten to a pulp by Popeye [Is it sexy to see Bluto hurt?], and a very strange fetish involving Bluto having huge muscles yet an incredibly thin abdomen and a very disturbing fat butt that doesn't fit - really distorted look for him - , so how about we just make a fanon wiki, and create pages depicting Bluto do whatever, popeye do whatever, episodes about whatever (maybe one with Popeye and Bluto realising how unattractive Olive is,) and everyone's happy.
