Popeye 2 is a video game published only in Europe by Alternative Software for computers Amstrad CPC, Amiga, ZX Spectrum, Atari ST and PC between 1990 and 1992.
The game is an action platformer in which Popeye is tasked with rescuing Olive Oyl from Bluto, finding them at the top of a vertically scrolling level. The fight with Bluto, an exchange of blows between the two strongmen, is aided by cans of spinach that are tossed Popeye's way and may restore his energy. Also, midway through the level, a Goon must be fought in the same way, plus hazards must be avoided and/or navigated, bombs extinguished and hamburgers collected to be given to J. Wellington Wimpy.
This game has some similarities to Donkey Kong, such as the vertical climb towards the enemy and the damsel he holds captive, consisting of four stages, and the first level being set in a building under construction.
