Robin McLaurin Williams (July 21, 1951 – August 11, 2014) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, singer, dancer, voice artist, and comedian.

Williams rose to fame with his role of Mork in Mork and Mindy, then had his first leading film role as Popeye in Robert Altman's film of the same name. He subsequently went on to a highly successful career as a Hollywood actor.

On August 11, 2014, Williams passed away at his home in Paradise Cay, California at age 63.
